You have received your item, what next?

Thank you for choosing to purchase your special jewellery item from Affinity fine Jewellers. Here you will find all of the information needed once you have received your item including aftercare, warranty and an introduction to our aftercare subscription service. 

What else have I received with my order?

Along with your new item of Jewellery you will have also received the following:

- 2 x copies of a ring valuation. This is for insurance purposes and you may be asked to send a copy to your insurers. The price on your valuation may be higher than what you paid for your item. This is because it is the price that will allow you (should you need to) to go out and buy the same or similar to your lost/stolen/damaged item.

 - Insurance recommendation leaflet. This leaflet is our recommendation of insurance company. Of course you can choose to insure with whoever you fancy but we will always recommend TH March. Should you seek a quote from them, please be sure to mention our code on the reverse of the leaflet.

 - Free resize voucher (rings only). Should your new rings be a little big/small please feel free to send it back to us within 3 months of receiving/your vent date and we will adjust for you (exclusions apply) Simply scan the QR code on your voucher, download and fill in our returns form and send to us via special delivery.

 

Warranty

All items produced by Affinity fine Jewellers will come with our 5 year manufacturing warranty. This will cover any defects or problems with the item found to be created during the manufacturing process or any problems found due to the style of an item.

Our warranty will be void if your item is found to have been worked on by another professional outside of Affinity Fine jewellers. This includes any repair work or resizing of your item.

 

Caring for your Jewellery

Congratulations on your new item of Jewellery and thank you for choosing Affinity Fine Jewellers.

During normal wear, your jewellery can pick up everyday residue from anything ranging from your natural skin oils to dust and pollution in the air.

Follow our simple steps below to keep your jewellery in tip top condition or read all about our Affinity aftercare subscription.

- Add a few small drops of mild dish soap to a bowl of lukewarm water. Add your jewellery items and allow to soak for 10-20 minutes.

 - Use a soft bristle toothbrush, which is to be saved for jewellery use only to rub away any dirt trapped in hard to reach areas.

 - Once your time is up, rinse your jewellery thoroughly and either allow it to air dry or use a soft, lint free cloth. Be sure not to use paper towels as these can cause scratches.

 - Always avoid wearing your jewellery when applying make-up, other cosmetics and creams and hairspray/perfume.

 - Always ensure you remove any jewellery items before cleaning, swimming or taking part in any sports/activities. This will minimise the risk of any damage to your precious metal items. If your item happens to come into contact with any chemical, be sure to rinse thoroughly straight away.

 - Store jewellery items separately. Different metals and gemstones have different levels of hardness and can potentially damage each other.

 - If you are unsure of any damage to your ring it is always best to get it checked by a professional as quickly as possible to avoid further damage. 

- Regular checks and cleaning should be carried out by a professional at least every 6-12 months.

 Please remember that all metals are susceptible to scratching so remember this fact during the cleaning and drying process and be as gentle as possible.

Affinity aftercare Subscription

Affinity Standard aftercare £2.99 per month

- Professional cleaning up to 2 times per year (including rhodium plating/re-dipping of white gold)

- Health Check of your item including free quotation of any repair or replacement as required

Affinity Premium aftercare £5.99 per month

The premium aftercare subscription includes all of the benefits of our standard aftercare, plus the following:

- Repair of your item in the event of accidental damage

- Replacement of any lost Diamonds/Gemstones up to the size of 3mm/0.10ct in size/weight due to accidental

   damage or unknown circumstance

- If your item is deemed to be beyond repair you will be provided with a quotation for a remake at a reduced cost
